Wedding Budget Calculator

This totals a wedding from the quotes you already have rather than from an average. Enter the guest count, the per-head figures for catering and drinks, and a price for each of the flat lines such as venue, photography, flowers and rings, and it returns the total, the cost per guest, the share of the budget each line takes and which one is largest. A second action works backwards from a fixed budget to the number of guests it reaches once the flat costs are paid. There is no built-in price list and no standard percentage split, because published averages describe other people's weddings and have a habit of becoming your budget. Lines you leave empty stay empty and are named in the result so nothing is quietly assumed.

Calculator Type

Fill in the quotes you have and leave the rest at zero. Nothing is estimated for you, so an empty line costs nothing and is listed as empty in the result.

The per-head figure on the caterer or venue quote, before any service charge you have been quoted separately.
Bar package per head, or your own estimate per guest if you are supplying the drink.
Room, grounds and hire fee. Keep the catering out of this line if it is quoted per head above.
Favours, gifts, accommodation, a rehearsal dinner, whatever your list has that the lines above do not.
A margin of your own choosing, added on top of the itemised total. Leave at zero if you would rather see the bare figures.
Fill this in to see how far over or under the total lands. Leave at zero to skip the comparison.

Work backwards. Total the costs that do not change with the head count, put the per-guest figure next to it, and see how many people the money reaches.

Venue, photography, music, flowers, attire, rings and anything else quoted as one figure.
Catering, drinks, favours and anything else that arrives once per head.
