Arcsin Calculator

Arcsin answers the question sine asks backwards: which angle has this sine. Enter a value from -1 to 1 and you get the angle in degrees, radians, multiples of pi and gradians, along with the degrees-minutes-seconds split and the arccos of the same value. Because sine repeats, the inverse is restricted to the principal value from -90 to 90 degrees, and the other family of angles with the same sine is listed separately. A value outside -1 to 1 has no inverse sine at all, and the form says so rather than returning an error code. There is a second mode that takes the opposite side and the hypotenuse of a right triangle instead of the ratio.

Calculator Type

Enter the sine and get the angle back, in degrees, radians and gradians.

Must be between -1 and 1. Anything outside that range has no inverse sine.
Widget

In a right triangle the sine of an angle is the opposite side over the hypotenuse, so two sides give you the angle.
