Limit Calculator

This tool evaluates limits of rational functions only, meaning one polynomial divided by another. Enter the coefficients of each polynomial, highest power first, then a point to approach or a direction to infinity. At a point it divides (x - a) out of both polynomials while they both vanish, then reports a finite value, an infinite limit, or one-sided limits that disagree; at infinity it compares degrees and leading coefficients. Trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, radical and piecewise limits are outside what it handles.
