Drywall Cost Calculator

This calculator sizes a drywall job either from room measurements or from a board area you have already worked out. It deducts the openings, adds a waste allowance, divides by the sheet size you are buying, and prices the sheets, the labour and any finishing materials you enter. Every dollar figure comes from the boxes you fill in, because sheet prices and hanging rates vary too much between regions and suppliers for a built-in average to be worth anything. Framing, corner bead, primer, paint and stripping out old board are outside the estimate, and the result says so.

Each one is taken off at 21 sq ft. Leave at zero to board over the openings and cut them out later.

Longer sheets mean fewer seams to tape but are harder to handle alone. The 4 ft wide sheets are the North American board; the 1200 mm sheets are what a metric merchant stocks, and at 2.88 sq m one of those is a square foot short of a 4 ft x 8 ft.
