Pressure Washing Cost Calculator

This calculator prices a pressure washing job two ways. The first takes each surface separately, since a driveway, siding, a deck, a roof and a fence are quoted at different rates a square foot, then adds the trip charge, the chemicals, any minimum the company will not go below and sales tax, and reports the blended cost per square foot you can compare quotes on. The second costs the job the way a contractor does, turning the area and a production rate into hours, the hours into labour and water, and adding a markup to reach a price. Every rate is yours to enter because pressure washing is priced locally and by how dirty the surface is, and the hints carry the ranges commonly quoted rather than a fixed price list.

Areas and Rates In
Every area and every per-area rate on this form is read in whichever you pick, and the answers come back in it. A quote priced in dollars a square metre needs metric areas beside it, or the two do not multiply.
Flat concrete is the cheapest surface to clean and is commonly quoted around $0.15 to $0.30 a square foot, which is $1.61 to $3.23 a square metre. More where there is oil or rust to pull out.
A soft wash on siding is commonly $0.20 to $0.45 a square foot, which is $2.15 to $4.84 a square metre. Measure the wall area, roughly the perimeter times the wall height, not the floor area of the house.
Wood takes low pressure and careful work, commonly $0.25 to $0.50 a square foot, which is $2.69 to $5.38 a square metre, and more again if it is to be stripped for staining.
A roof is soft washed with a chemical mix, never blasted. Commonly $0.30 to $0.60 a square foot, which is $3.23 to $6.46 a square metre, and steeper pitches cost more.
Fence area is length times height. Count both sides separately if both are to be cleaned.
Travel, unloading, running hose and packing up again. Often folded into the minimum rather than shown separately.
Sodium hypochlorite mix, degreaser, rust remover, a post-treatment. Charged as a line item on larger jobs and buried in the rate on small ones.
Almost every company has one, commonly between $150 and $350, because loading the trailer costs the same whether the job is small or large.
Some states tax cleaning services and some do not. Leave at 0 if the quote you were given is tax inclusive.

Area and Production Rate In
The area and the production rate are read in the same unit and divide into hours, so either gives the same time on site. The per-area price at the end comes back in whichever you pick.
Water and Chemicals In
Machine flow, chemical volume and both of their prices. A US gallon is 3.785411784 litres, so a 4 gpm machine is 15.14 litres a minute.
What the crew actually covers including setup and moving hose, in square feet an hour. A surface cleaner on open concrete runs several times faster than a wand on siding, so use your own measured figure if you have one.
Loaded cost, so wages plus payroll tax and insurance, not the take-home rate.
A homeowner machine is 1.5 to 2.5 gallons a minute and a contractor rig 4 to 8 gallons. Flow is what cleans; pressure only decides what it strips.
Per 1,000 gallons, from the water bill, including the sewer charge where the utility bills sewer on metered water. Leave at 0 when the customer supplies the water.
Fuel for the truck and the burner, plus whatever you set aside per job for wear on the machine.
