Countertop Calculator

A kitchen counter is rarely one rectangle, so this adds up to four runs separately and gives you the total square footage. For each run you enter the length and depth in inches and say which sides are on show, which is what decides the finished edge, and the tool returns the area, the edge in linear feet, the area once waste is added, and the cost of each. A backsplash in the same material can be included by its length and height. There is no built-in price list: the material rate, the edge rate and any flat charges all come from your own quote, because countertop pricing moves by material, fabricator and region.

Units

Measure each straight run separately and say which sides of it are on show. Pick the unit you measured in first. Leave a run blank if you do not have it.

Only if the backsplash is the same material. Leave at zero for tile.
Left blank it counts as 4 inches, which is the usual small splash.
Offcuts, the sink cutout and the pieces lost to seams. Fabricators usually bill the slab area they consume, not the finished top.
Your quote, fabricated: per square foot, or per square metre when metric is selected. Divide a slab price by the slab area if that is how it was quoted.
What the fabricator charges for the profile, per linear foot or per metre in metric. A square or eased edge is often included, in which case leave it at zero.
Flat charges from your quote: cutouts, templating, delivery, removal of the old top. Enter what you were told; none of it is estimated for you.
