Plywood Calculator

Plywood and OSB are bought in whole sheets, so the useful answer is a sheet count rather than an area. Enter the surface as a length and a width, as a square footage you already have, or as the walls of a room with the doors and windows taken out, then pick a sheet size and a waste allowance. It returns the sheets to buy, how much material is left over and a total cost if you give a price per sheet. Offcuts are counted as usable area, so a cut list with many narrow rips can still need one sheet more.

The millimetre sizes are the sheets sold outside North America, and they are not converted 4 by 8s: 2440 x 1220 is 32.04 sq ft, not 32. The area in brackets follows the measurement choice above.
Around 10% for a plain rectangle, 15% or more where there are many cuts or openings.
Leave at zero to skip the cost line.
