Vinyl Flooring Calculator

Sheet vinyl comes off a roll of a fixed width, so buying it is a cutting problem rather than an area divided by a box coverage. Give the room size and the roll width and this works both orientations, reports the cheaper one with the strip count, the linear feet and yards, where the seams land and how much is left over, and puts the other way round beside it so the choice is visible. A second mode covers the glue-down side, with adhesive by the gallon from the spread rate on your own pail, the pails to buy, and what changes when the floor is loose laid or click lock instead. For plank layout, stagger and the last row width, the laminate flooring calculator does that arithmetic already.

Changes every figure on the form and in the answer. The roll widths are named in both systems, because a 2 metre roll and a 6 foot roll are two different products rather than one product spelt twice.
In the unit chosen above. Left blank, a 12 ft (3.66 m) roll is assumed.
Sheet vinyl is cut oversize and trimmed in place. The usual allowance is three inches at each wall. Enter 0 to cut the sheet to the exact room size.
In inches. A patterned sheet needs one extra repeat on every strip after the first so the seam can be matched. Leave at zero for a plain sheet.
An area, in square feet. Counted into the floor area only; small pieces normally come out of the offcut.

An area, in square feet.
Read it off the pail, in square feet per gallon or square metres per litre to match the choice above. Left blank it is 150 sq ft per gallon, which is 3.68 sq m per litre. A fine notch trowel can reach 250 sq ft a gallon and a coarse one can be under 120, so the trowel matters more than the brand.
In US gallons. Left blank it is the 4 gallon pail that market actually sells.
Off the end of the carton, as an area. Left blank it is 24 sq ft, which is 2.23 sq m.
