Vinyl Flooring Cost Calculator

Vinyl is not all sold in the same unit, so this prices it in whichever one applies: click-lock, glue-down and peel-and-stick come by the box, while sheet vinyl comes off a roll and is quoted by the square yard. Enter the room, a waste allowance and the format, then the box or square-yard price along with adhesive coverage, underlayment, moisture barrier, levelling, labour, removal, trim, transitions and tax, and it returns each line, the material and labour subtotals and the cost per square foot. A second mode runs it backwards from a total budget to the most you can spend per square foot, per square yard or per box on the flooring itself. No prices are built in, because vinyl spans a wide range and labour moves with the region.

Follows through to every rate as well as every measurement, so a price per square foot becomes a price per square metre. Flat fees, the tax rate and the waste allowance are the same number either way.
An area, in the unit chosen above.
Ten percent is the usual allowance for a square room, more for a diagonal layout or a lot of cuts.
Off the carton, as an area in the unit chosen above. Left blank it is 24 sq ft, which is 2.23 sq m. Ignored when the format is sheet vinyl.
Only used when the format is sheet vinyl. Nine square feet to the square yard, and 1.196 square yards to the square metre.
For a glue-down floor. Leave at zero for click-lock or peel-and-stick. 150 sq ft per gallon is 3.68 sq m per litre.
Click-lock only, and nothing at all if the plank already has a pad attached.
